Leo Seje Owade will not feature for Resolution Impala Saracens this weekend in Kisumu. Kerre Eric however, will travel with the team as player 13. Overall NSC 2017 Captain – Leon Adongo who was player 13 last week has been confirmed fit to engage in contact rugby. Intra-team competition got the best of Paul Mutsami after Sepetuka 7s. He never made it to the Christie 7s squad. He has however been included in the squad to Dala 7s after posting good results in training this week.
The Gazelles go into Dala 7s placed 2nd with 80 points, 5 points shy of series leaders – Kabras Sugar. Day 1 in Pool B looks exciting for the Gazelles who have been drawn together with Western Bulls, Resolution Kisii & Menengai Cream Homeboyz. Impala has met Homeboyz once – at thE Sepetuka 7s semis and ran off with a 26-19 win. The first encounter between the Gazelles & Kisii was recorded at the RFUEA in a Pool B Christie 7s fixture. The Gazelles emerged winners after a 36-12 fulltime score. Western Bulls have met impala twice this season and lost on both occasions. The first was a 5-17 defeat at Prinsloo. The second was in Eldoret at the Main Cup Quarter Final stage. Impala won 15-0.
Statistically, Impala definitely appear the best team in Pool B, but with Homeboyz raring to go for the Dala 7s & overall trophies, Western Bulls seeking to finish at a decent spot on the log & Kisii looking forward to start next season in Division 1, no opponent is to be underrated.
