Evans Omondi’s opening try, which went unconverted by Bernard Rotich opened proceedings at the Blad Bin, but BlakBlad Byron Okada’s boot swiftly cut the points difference to only 2 after he kicked over penalty. Although Cosmas Valentino scored, Rotich missed his 2nd attempt at converting & the hosts through Zack Onyonka, in a resolute display of backline brutality, pierced through Impala defence. Okada’s boot did not disappoint the home fans, locking up scores at 10 a piece. Jesse Ngesa, who appeared unsettled by Blad’s attempt at challenging Impala started the try gates, sending Blad into a rout. His try, converted by Kiplang’at placed Impala in the lead once again. Stephen Shammah, gathered acreage, crashed in the Blad 22. The subsequent phase released Timothy Makiya who scored at the corner. Windy conditions made the place kick by Kiplang’at impossible. He opted for the drop kick, but the strong breeze swayed his kick wide.

An afternoon of hard work by the Impala forwards & particularly Steve Shammah is to be credited for the Boks’ dominance of the second half. His power filled territory to territory runs & spirit filled carrying built very strategic platforms of attack for his teammates. The flanker, scored from behind the scrum in the opening minutes of the 2nd half. Mark Kwemoi converted. A quick tap by Rotich in Blad 5 resulted in a try. Kwemoi’s attempt at topping it up with 2 points was unsuccessful. The electric Shammah sent dust rising when he scored at the corner. Mark Kwemoi’s boot found happiness when he kicked over the conversion.
