Black Lions scored six tries to defeat Ngong Fry 32-24 in the ladies category of the 37th edition of the annual Impala Floodlit tournament sponsored by BLAZE hosted at Impala Club, Nairobi.
The ladies donning the black jersey scored twice the number of tries touched down by their opponents in a convincing victory during the fixture preceding men’s action on the opening weekend of the tournament.
Philadelphia Orlando and Janet Okello scored twice for the Black Lions whom despite their multiple try scoring efforts, managed only a single conversion through Orlando. The Kenya Lionesses player converted their first try scored by Imogen Hooper but missed the following five including the final one scored by Stephanie Waithera.
Ngong Fry’s tries were scored by Grace Adhiambo and Stella Wafula (2). Grace Adhiambo converted the 3 tries. Anne Njeri scored a penalty to contribute an extra three points for the side.
