Swaras have retained the whole line up that started against Blak Blad last weekend. There are three tactical changes on the bench. Kennedy Mutuma moves from backrow reserve to lock reserve replacing Seth Keter. Steve Okomba enters the team for the first time this pre-season as backrow replacement in Mutuma’s place of last week.
David Ochieng comes in to replace last weekend’s David Macharia as back reserve. Ochieng is son of the legendary St. Mary’s Yala coach Oscar Oyowo. Ochieng, new to the club and a potential debutant this weekend, was the players’ pick of the week for his impressive training.
Speaking to the Floodies 2018 Media team this morning, Resolution Impala Saracens Director Of Rugby – Fred Ollows confirmed, “This weekend is another good challenge for rapidly developing Swaras. They enjoy playing this level because many of the other players are their mates in the universities and colleges. Some were their teammates or rivals at school.
Last weekend, they surprised Blak Blad in the 38-12 win. Our players from Kenyatta University have really enjoyed the week’s banter at campus. However, at the training park it was all about USIU. We recognize that they will be highly motivated.
The USIU forward pack will have good former Swaras – prop George Ochieng, flanker Isiah Wafula and no. 8 Tobias Otieno. We think Tobby is their best player. We’ll be happy to take him on.
We have worked on skill and tactical detail this week that will counter their big forwards and release our quick agile men. In the end, our guys intend to enjoy themselves greatly on one more rugby day. Buy your ticket by dialling *229*99#
