Resolution Kisii will debut at the 36th Edition of the Impala Floodlit Rugby Tournament which starts this Saturday, 4th November 2017. The team which was recently promoted to Kenya Cup alongside Mombasa RFC has opted to begin testing the waters before being dropped in the deep end. The Floodies 2017 Media Team spoke to the always passionate – Resolution Kisii Chairman Walter Orangi on his team’s decision to participate in Floodies 2017.
“We want to use the Floodies 2017 platform to test our structures of play just before entering Kenya Cup. It is here that we’ll better understand the choices to make before the transfer window closes. This being our first time participating, we simply want to explore the atmosphere that makes up top-flight rugby. In a few years, we will definitely start targeting the Floodies silverware.”
When asked if Resolution Kisii has any new acquisitions worth media mention, Orangi revealed, “We have already identified a Strength & Conditioning Coach, a Team Manager & a Physiotherapist whose names I won’t reveal in this interview. We are however still head-hunting for a coach.”
Asked if Resolution Kisii stands a chance of eking out a win at the Impala Club this weekend when they go against KCB (current Kenya Cup Champions and emerged runners up in the 35th edition of Floodies) in the 3pm fixture, Orangi acknowledged, “I am sure it will not be easy against KCB but we won’t make it a walk in the park for them.”
