Resolution Impala Saracens were forced to wait until the 7th minute to break through Blad who had controlled proceedings for much of the 1st half. Interplay between Ian Mabwa & Paul Mutsami opened up Kenya International – Kerre Eric who sprinted 40 metres before touching down in the try box. Mark Kwemoi converted with beauty to close the half at 7-0.
Blad, who have a tendency to always stand solid against Impala did not relent in the second half. 3 minutes after the 2nd half kick-off whistle, Brian Wahinya went over the line. His subsequent attempt at leveling with the conversion went through.
Impala could have won the match in post-buzzer time, but a run, not well timed by hooker – Steve Shammah met by a forward pass from fly-half – George Okowa were punished by referee – Moses Ndung’u. Ndung’u’s whistle blew for full-time.

I am not happy with the performance. We were slow off the blocks, we seemed lethargic. I believe we were lucky to get a draw, at least we didn’t lose. In our next match against Kisumu, we’ll definitely try new combinations. I know there are a couple of players who just came back to competitive 7s. I hope they will pick up as quickly as possible. The team Captain – Samuel Motari did well in his defending, but as a team, I believe we can do much better.
