Samuel Motari returns from injury to captain Resolution Impala Saracens in one of three changes from Sepetuka 7s where the team finished 7th.
“We will throw everything into this one as we defend the Kabeberi trophy,” said Motari. The captain was kept out of Sepetuka action by a strained hamstring in the season opening Prinsloo tournament.
Kenya Simba backrow Eric Kerre enters the National Sevens Circuit fray having not travelled to Namibia for the Rugby World Cup Qualifier clash. The squad also sees the entry of former Kenya Sevens player Leon Adongo.
“Kabeberi has been a good hunting ground for us over history, we won the tournament back to back in 2016 & 2017,” says head coach Oscar Osir. “The boys have put in the work and it should show in the arena. We have been concerned about the number of yellow cards. Granted that they have been mainly from one ref but we have talked about disciplining our approach”.
The Sarries lie fourth on the Circuit log with 27 points as they travel to Machakos for the Stanbic Mwamba organized third leg.
