Resolution Impala Saracens Boks Captain Quinto Ongo:
There was lots of drive and anticipation shown in the last training session on Thursday and everyone is just waiting for the game. That’s an indication that the team is raring for the finale.
Lessons picked from the loss to KCB in the preliminaries:
We picked up various lessons from that match, territorial battle was quite a big lesson we have worked on and expect to put it into practice in the final. Individual errors too was quite something that we have addressed in training and worked on. The last thing was that a game of rugby is prayed until the final whistle because looking back at that game we led almost 2/3rds of the game but KCB bounced back in the last 1/3rd of the game to win in. This time round there’s no laxity until the final whistle.
On inclusion of Tyson Okoth & Daniel Ndome on the team:
Tyson and Ndome have proved themselves in training and fought for the jersey like any other player. Of course they will add more value to the team bearing in mind the two played a big part of their season in Kenya Cup so they will be coming to the squad with much experience.
The venue has nothing to affect our performance today:
Its a good thing the match is being played at USIU. It’s a neutral ground. As a team we had already set our minds that wherever the venue we would not be subjected to any pressure. Our plans for the game are still the same, nothing changes because of the venue.
It is a final. we’ll play our hearts out:
We are keen on execution, capitalising on our opponents mistakes and cutting down on our errors. There’s no pressure whatsoever so we will come out there and play our hearts out.
