Resolution Impala Saracens travel to the coastal city of Mombasa to face Mombasa rfc in an encounter that marks the beginning of the team’s campaign in this season’s Enterprise Cup. The match to be played at the Mombasa Sports Club on 8th March 2014 promises to drift the Resolution Health Impala Saracen’s way if past encounters are anything to go by. The last time Impala faced off against Mombasa Rfc was on February 22nd 2014 in a Kenya Cup clash characterized by unilateral movement in Impala’s favour. The match which ended 70-3, began on a low firing key, with The Impala Saracens being pushed to the edge by a resolute and unyielding Mombasa Rfc defence. Impala only managed a 26-0 score at half time. However, as the game grew older, fluidity was generated within the forwards to create chances for back row- Duncan Ekasi, open side winger -Quinto Odhiambo and blindside winger Richard Sidindi to cross over the line in ensuring a comfortable win.
This weekend however, the team aims at capitalizing on forward play and increasing boot accuracy and attack intensity on the backline. Notable inclusions in the scrum include Joel Omer (captain), Kelvin Karani, Robert Kweya and Makori Davis. Coordination between scrumhalf Yasa Mohammed and Anthony Nyandigisi is expected to create the best of platforms and space for Moenga David and Okowa George to inject speed at midfield. If the back three of Minjire Ian, Odhiambo Quinto and Richard Sidindi should not falter on the counter attack, and George Okowa and Nyandigisi’s boots have the best touch, the team could be enroute to a century plus win against the coastal outfit.
