The Resolution Impala Saracens Boks officially start their defence of the ESS trophy with a match against Mwamba RFC at the Impala Club on 2nd December 2017. The Boks took opportunity of Mombasa RFC’s inability to field a 2nd side last weekend to play Mean Machine RFC II in a friendly match that looked like an ESS final match. Although the match ended 17-5 contrary to the fans’ expectations, Head Coach – Frank Ndong’ was confident that the Boks know how to weave out of such situations. This weekend is important to the Boks. They beat Mwamba RFC II 19-13 on February 18 2017 in a closely contested ESS fixture & would want to continue asserting dominance over a side that has always wanted to overturn the tables.
The technical bench, after studying combinations last Saturday, have decided that Steve Ayora start in place of Mike Munyua at tight-head. Lock Francis Achira starts in Bakata Elisapana’s place. Evans Omondi starts at blind-side flank. Richard Asante who played in this position last Saturday plays at open-side. Elvis Oroko played at open-side last weekend but showed promise in training this week. He starts from the bench in the 4pm fixture. Valentino Cosmas retains his 8th man jersey. The entire backline is unchanged.
