4 changes have been made to the forwards who started against Kenya Harlequins last weekend. The Resolution Impala Saracens Boks technical bench has made a decision to start Joshua Momanyi in place of Mike Munyua. Munyua will start off the bench. A complete change has been made in the second row. Eric Kerre & Francis Achira, who started last weekend, will not be involved in rugby this weekend. Their jerseys are picked up by long serving player – Paul Oimbo & youngster Edwin Gatungo. One change has been made to the backrow. Joel Omer, will play in his first XV rugby match this year. The flanker has been out of action due to a wrist injury picked in November 2017 when the Gazelles played against Mombasa RFC. He replaces Elvis Oroko who will start off the bench.
In a tactical decision, Bernard Rotich will start at scrum-half this weekend. Ian Mabwa is on the bench. The only other change made on the back line is Quinto Ongo for Douglas Ochako at the right wing. While Quinto comes back to starting for the Boks after successful exploits with the Gazelles in the Ngong Road Derby last weekend, Ochako will not be involved in rugby this weekend. The last time the Boks met Kabras in Kakamega, they lost 10-20 – on 18th March 2017. The Boks currently sit fourth on the ESS standings behind Homeboyz, KCB & Kabras. A Boks’ win this weekend will be very important in helping secure a favourable play-off finish as the Boks seek to defend the 2016-17 trophy.
