Resolution Impala Saracens v Pan Africa Strathmore Leos

Hosts Resolution Impala Saracens play Pan Africa Strathmore Leos in the first semifinal in the clubs category at the Impala Floodlit tournament on Saturday 24 October.

The Sarries were imperious in their 48-17 quarterfinal rout of Kenya Harlequin and will be out to replicate that form against a dogged Leos side that reached the semis with a 17-9 quarterfinal win over Top Fry Nakuru last weekend.

Nato Simiyu, a class act for Impala last weekend will once again be called upon to wave his magic wand and spur his backline that will probably once gain the impressive Sammy Oliech, Robert Aringo, Kevin Ochami and George Okowa.

Duncan Ekasi will be key in the forwards, using all of his leadership and experience to bring out their best as they look to quell the threat posed by the Leos whose forward play against Nakuru was superior, almost without fault.

Key players to watch out for on the Leos side include Jared Owinyo, Mike Gitau and Alex Olaba.

KCB v Menengai Cream Homeboyz

Champions KCB play Menengai Cream Homeboyz in the show-stopping second semifinal under the Impala Club lights and this should be a sterner test for the Lions who were hardly engaged by Mwamba en route to last weekend’s 28-0 quarterfinal win.

KCB back Felix Wanjala and Darwin Mukidza were expectionally brilliant while Oliver Mang’eni and Elly Mukaizi were marauding in the forwards. This quartet will have to turn up on Saturday and inspire the deejays whose forwards were equally effective in the 29-13 quarterfinal win over Total Nondies.

Joshua Chisanga, Humphrey Mulama, Kelvin Masai and Harun Lubisia gave them the edge over Nondies and will once again to be called upon to deliver victory for the Homeboyz.

Schools and varsity semifinals

These matches will be preceded by the schools and universities semifinals. Mang’u play Ofafa in the first schools’ semifinal at 11.00am, paving the way for the second semi between defending champions Laiser Hill and Moi Forces Academy.

Action will then shift to the Universities semifinals where Strathmore University are up against Kenyatta University while USIU face Mean Machine.

All the action takes place at the Impala Club, entry charges Ksh 300.

*There will be a big screen on hand to enable fans catch the Rugby World Cup semifinal between South Africa and New Zealand.
