The Resolution Insurance backed side won the hotly contested matches 26-19 and 31-29 respectively. The Sarries fielded evenly balanced sides – A and Alpha.

“The lads have put in lots of work in the pre season. We’re happy with the Floodlit and friendly results. However, the proof of the pudding is in the eating,” said Impala Director of Rugby, Fred Ollows.

“After a close look, especially of last weekend’s matches, very little separates our Kenya Cup and Eric Shirley teams of the weekend. We hope to retain the Chums (Samson Oshiambo Mwmoeial) Cup and continue our good run of form, in the last couple of ESS trophies”

The Ngong Road team lost last season’s Kenya Cup final at Impala Club, after leading the refular season log.

In a double header weekend, at Impala Club, the Eric Shirley Shield team will play at midday against Nondescripts at midday. The Kenya Cup fixture is at 4pm. Similar Homeboyz versus Strathmore fixtures, on the same venue, are at 10am and 2pm respectively.
