Daystar University Coach – Bosire Caleb has confirmed Daystar University’s participation in Floodies 2017.
“It is a nicely organized tournament & we are always happy to participate,” he starts. “Floodies has always been the platform for us to introduce players who have just joined the University to competition right before start of the local league. It also gives us an opportunity to understand if our structures are any solid. It is also here that we spot our weaknesses going into the XV season proper,” he adds.
Asked about any new players that the Falcons could have signed for this season, Bosire confirmed, “Sadly, we don’t have the advantage of signing players like other clubs due to the prevailing structures at school administration level. We will therefore continue channeling players through the ranks.”
Bosire is an optimistic man, “In 2015 & 2016, we lost to USIU in the quarters, but we will never lose hope. This year, we come back a rejuvenated team & hope to qualify for the semis.
“I understand the atmosphere surrounding the nation at this time, but I can never grow tired of stressing why sport should always act as a unifier. Rugby has been proven to bring people from all walks of life together & what an amazing opportunity for cohesion this promises to be,” he concludes.
