Reigning Kenya Cup champions KCB are 36th edition champions of the Impala Floodlit tournament.
KCB beat 2016 champions Impala Saracens 18-17 to take back the trophy they won in 2015. The bankers ran in two tries, one conversion and two penalties to seal the win.
Impala scored one penalty and a converted try in the first half before adding a converted try in the second half.
Xavier Kipngetich crossed over for the Sarries with Quinto Ongo adding the extras as he did to all other points. Sensational Timothy Makia scored Impala’s try in the first half.
Nick Ongeri touched down for the champions with Essau Otieno adding the extras. Otieno had KCB’s two penalties in the first half.
Otieno would cross over in the second half to seal KCB’s win.
The two sides embark on the 2017/18 Kenya Cup season that begins next Saturday. KCB are away to Kisii RFC as Impala welcomes Mombasa RFC.
