James Kubasu, Daniel Ndome & Anthony Orege will start at front row this Saturday 13th January 2018 when Resolution Impala Saracens come head to head with newly promoted Resolution Kisii RFC in the SPONSOR’S DERBY to be played at the Impala Club. Orege for Karani is the only change in this unit. Karani will start from the bench. A mix of experience & youthful effervescence is maintained in the second row: Davis Makori & Rainer Omondi continue their lock and lock partnership. While Elvis Oroko, Harritone Munai & Steve Shammah constituted the youthful backrow that started in Impala’s 2017 17-12 Chum Reru cup win against Nondies, none of them gets a chance to start this Saturday. Tyson Okoth, Paul Mutsami & Duncan Ekasi receive the nod to start.
Samson Onsomu & Nato Simiyu play at scrum-half & fly-half respectively. This will be Nato’s first Kenya Cup match ever since coming from the Kenya Simbas’ 4 Nations Campaign in Hong Kong.
Inside centre – Samuel Motari starts from the bench. He is replaced by Ishmael Mokaya. Mokaya pairs Billy Omondi who wears the number 13 jersey. The back three remains unchanged. Derrick Mayar starts at the left wing. Timothy Makiya at the right & the ever green Vincent Mose wears the fullback jersey.
Speaking to our media team earlier on this week, Resolution Impala Saracens Head Coach – Frank Ndong’ confirmed that Kisii have been known to stretch the ‘big teams’. Resolution Impala Saracens will therefore enter the match seeking to announce dominance very early. Director of Rugby – Fred Ollows acknowledged the fact that former Impala technical bench member & current Resolution Kisii Head Coach – Nick Abok understands how Impala play. “He might have ideas of how we play, but we are coming to smash the hell out of them.”
