Going into the 1 week February 2018 season break, Resolution Impala Saracens currently stand 4th on the Kenya Cup log with 34 points. Kabras are third with 38 points, Homeboyz stand 2nd with 39. KCB are league leaders with 44 points. With only 2 matches left to end of the preliminaries, from analysis and permutations, Head Coach – Frank Ndong’ understands that position 1 & 2 are taken, but there exists a chance to finish better than 4th. In this exclusive, he opens up about his preferred venue for a play-off & why the Boks have been experiencing close shaves this season.
“Sometimes we get a little casual after breaks, but we have a plan to enable the players stay within course & could have a friendly match this weekend. Only 2 matches remain in the preliminaries. Arithmetically, we could leapfrog the number 3 team dependent on how they play their next matches. For now, we are sure of the 4th position, but if a chance to jump to 3rd presents itself, we will take it. A home fixture in the Kenya Cup play-off will always be a desired outcome as well.”
“Our ESS team this year, the Resolution Impala Saracens Boks has had a player shift. Most of the team stalwarts now play in Kenya Cup, but what you have to admire about them is how the team plays. Other teams have stepped up this season & the Boks have had to react to brutality & employ genius tactics to win matches they would have otherwise not come out of winners. The third placed Boks will now go all out in the remaining fixtures in order to secure that comfortable play-off position,” he concluded.
