Resolution Impala Saracens has been grouped together with Kenya Harlequins, Northern Suburbs Cubs and Uganda Emerging Sevens in Pool C of the 2018 Christie 7s.
Social Media experienced flashes of banter when Resolution Impala Saracens came from behind to beat Quins 17-12 in the Dala 7s Main Cup Quarters. A lot more action is expected on the sidelines of the RFUEA when these two teams, whose rivalry spans decades will tackle each other on Saturday 15th September 2018. Impala, who have 54 points and are placed 6th on the NSC 2018 log, just one point above Kenya Harlequins who have 51 points will be seeking to confirm that the win in Kisumu was not by fluke. All Impala fans are highly encouraged to spare just this one weekend to cheer the boys to winning.
The last time the Gazelles played Northern Suburbs, the team was deep in 13th place semi squalor after being beaten 24-19 by Strathmore Leos in the Challenge Trophy Quarters. Although Impala recorded a 24-12 win against the Cubs, it required more than the usual pass and run to break through a 12-12 deadlock at the 9th minute. Relive that match here: http://bit.ly/
The Gazelles may not have watched the Uganda Emerging Sevens play before. But if performance by the Uganda Cranes 7s team in the International Sevens Circuit is anything to go by, the science of trickle-down effects should be enough to make this pool a must follow.
