Floodies 2018: SWARAS squad to face BlakBlad has been named

Impala Saracens Director of Rugby – Fred Ollows has released the match day 23 to take on BlakBlad RC in a Floodies 2018 Varsities Category quarter final fixture.
Speaking to our media team during the team naming ceremony, Mr. Ollows remarked, “The Swaras asked for this challenge themselves. They approached the Club and weren’t really ordered to play. They have put in some of the hardest yakka seen here for some time.

Their learning curve has been deliberately steep! They have serious ambitions as the next generation of Impalas. Saturday will be a fantastic opportunity to see where we are against a perennial Kenya Cup side. We have many exciting players in the squad who will relish the opportunity to mix it in the senior game. It will be the match to watch in the varsity action, this weekend.”

Tactical Changes
Last weekend, the Swaras played the Menengai Oilers ESS side as a prep match. From that side loosehead prop
Milton Omondi replaces the debuting Ian Masheti. Patrick ‘Billy Whizz’ Mawira replaces David Macharia at openside wing.

Kennedy Mutuma replaces Seth Keter as reserve lock who replaces last week’s Charles Godiah. Godiah is uninvolved though he’s in the larger squad of 30.

Bereaved
Captain Katl Siambe moves from his #5 lock position of last weekend to replace the bereaved Joseph Munyaka at the blindside flank. Munyaka lost his grandfather this week. He will return to action next week after the Tuesday burial.

Mark Akide, making his competitive debut for Swaras, moves one out to #5. Burly Frank Aduda enters the squad at tight lock.
