Floodies 2018: Black Lions win Women’s Competition
womens-2

Black Lions franchise, a combined Mwamba and Northern Suburbs team, overcame Ngong Fry RFC 25-10 to lift the Floodies 2018 Women’s competition trophy in a match played at the Impala Club.

Despite the drizzling weather conditions, the two teams were locked at a brace of tries each into the half time. Janet Okello was first to cross the white wash in the thirteenth minute to have the Black Lions lead 5-0 but that was cancelled minutes later through an unconverted Michelle Akinyi try. Both teams heading level to the break.

Second Half

Five minutes into the second half, Stacey Atieno set the Black Lions ahead with an unconverted try, a lead that would further be boosted by two more unconverted tries from Philadelphia Olando and Imogen Hooper. Ngong Fry would fail to even the scores and they would remain as is to the final whistle.
