Blad edge USIU to retain varsity title
blad

Blak Blad retained the Floodies Universities title with a 20-16 win over a battling USIU side. It was Blak Blad who went ahead through Reuben Mubegi’s try, Felix Juma converting for a 7-0 lead. Rocky Aguko soon landed an unconverted try as they led 12-0 but Alfred Odawa scored a penalty for USIU to bring the scores to 12-3 at the break.

Another Odawa penalty after the break saw USIU claw back  to 12-6 but Aguko landed his brace, extending the lead to 17-6 before Moses Seroney landed twice for USIU, the match finely poised at 17-16. Mobegi would land a late penalty to give Blak Blad the result and a successful title defense.
