Resolution Impala Saracens registered a whopping 68-7 score against Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad. In one of the double header #KenyaCupmatches played at Catholic University of Eastern Africa, the Ngong Road based outfit begun right from the whistle. This was Blak Blad’s worst score this season, so far.

Blad fumbled the kickoff allowing Impala to interplay, and eventually gain scrum at the Blad five metre. Captain and eighth man, Duncan Ekasi grounded the scrum pushover. George Okowa failed to convert.

Blak Blad would inch ahead when they replied with their robust running style after a miscued Impala kick into the pitch centre. Winger Klein Omgaki would finally score the try with Bernard Rotich converting for the only time Blad would be ahead. 7-5, Blad.

Okowa’s penalty conversion from a Blad breakdown infringement, would return Impala a narrow lead 8-7. They didn’t look back.

From dominant go-forward ball, with lock Paul Oimbo, hooker Daniel Ndome and eventual man of the match blindside flanker Joel Omer leading the charge, the Resolution sponsored Gazelles would score
tries from Omer, Oimbo, openside winger Quinto Ongo and fullback Pius Shiundu. Okowa would convert one try, for a 30-7, Impala score, at half time.

In a free flowing second half, the Sarries Global Network team would score another six tries, four converted, to complete the score at 68-7. Reserve scrum half lit up the base, at will. In addition, the impetus of other reserves, lock Davis Makori and centre Sammy Oliech gave the forward play more grunt and back play, more bite.

Fly half Anthony Nyandigisi kept firm control of the attacking shape.

In this half, Shiundu dot down twice, to complete a hat trick of tries, Oimbo once, for a brace, with Nyandigisi, Oliech and Onsomu adding one each. Shiundu would convert once, and Oliech three time for the 38 points in second half.

Earlier, Impala Boks beat Blak Blad II 41-3 in the Eric Shirley Shield while Impala Bucks beat Daystar 37-15, in the Nationwide (Nairobi Region) league.

Resolution Impala Saracens next play the Catholic Monks in Kenya Cup and Eric Shirley Shield at Strathmore University. The KRU will communicate on who the Bucks play in the Nairobi Region Quarters, in the Nationwide League.
