After 2 wins & 1 unfortunate loss, Resolution Impala Saracens have qualified for the Main Cup Quarter Finals of the 2017 Christie 7s.
Resolution Impala Saracens vs Mean Machine RFC
With the learnings from the 7-5 Driftwood 7s loss to the students, the Gazelles went into this match a very clinical outfit. Tries from Davies Makori, Mark Kwemoi, Richard Sidindi & Samuel Motari were influential in securing a decent 36-15 win over Machine.

Resolution Impala Saracens vs Resolution Kisii
In the sponsors’ duel, Resolution Kisii proved no match for the Gazelles. Ian Minjire registered his name on the scorers sheet after only 1 minute of the game. Kwemoi converted with ease. Samuel Motari scored the second. Kwemoi failed to find the posts. Kwemoi, who is currently Impala’s best kicker this 7s circuit struck neatly after a Davis Makori try in the final minutes of the first half. He went on to convert Ian Mabwa’s try just 30 seconds into the second half. Timothy Makiya, who had a good Sepetuka 7s scored a brace in this Christie 7s duel. Kwemoi & Onsomu failed to convert both tries respectively. Resolution Kisii were not going home empty. Their 2 tries, one which was converted, sent the stands to a rupturous cheer, but were not enough to stop the Gazelles from winning.

Resolution Impala Saracens vs Top Fry Nakuru
It would have been an extremely ecstatic night for Resolution Impala Saracens’ 7s Head Coach – Oscar Osir, but lady luck’s sour side laced with an unfortunate referee’s call won the day. Samuel Motari went over at the corner. Kwemoi attempted to top up his effort with the conversion but struck wide. Impala would have scored another try in the first half but an inefficiency in support play gifted Nakuru the chance to turnover. Although Motari’s unconverted try seemed to prevail past half-time & deep into the second half, an unfortunate referee call reduced Impala to six. Davies Makori thus binned provided Nakuru the best opportunity to tear through an Impala defence they had struggled to break open for 13 minutes & 59 seconds. Monate Akuei dived into the try box. Geoffrey Ominde’s conversion won the afternoon for Top Fry Nakuru.

Resolution Impala Saracens Director of Rugby – Fred Ollows:
The first 2 matches were nicely executed. The Nakuru match was an unfortunate bounce of the ball. A couple of calls by the match official destabilized the boys, but this should be platform to play better from. The real problem we had against Mwamba at Sepetuka was the kick off. They have Humphrey Khayange who looks very fit. Collins Injera might not be 100% fit but he has surely brought a change to the Kulabu outfit. We cannot afford to commit any errors when we go against them tomorrow in the Main Cup Quarters. Impala has introduced new players – Seje Owade & Kerre Eric this weekend. The technical bench must have wanted to balance out the load. We still have 2 legs to play: This one and Dala 7s. The gaps between the teams have grown smaller. Intensity has grown fierce. It is only insightful to balance out strengths as the series heads to the climax.
