Gregory Ochieng scored Mwamba’s first try. The conversion by Daniel Taabu struck neat for the 7-0 lead. An exchange of passes between Collins Injera and Billy Odhiambo opened Odhiambo to scoring a try at the corner. The attempted conversion went wide.

Poor concentration in kick-off collection gifted Taabu the simplest of opportunities to score. His subsequent conversion went through the posts. He later recorded a brace after a clever dummy on Impala forward – Harritone Munai. The conversion that followed blew wide. The match could have ended 24-0 if Mwamba could have booted it into touch and bought time, but with only seconds to play, they opted to play it but lost it forward in own 22. The resultant scrum was just the best opportunity for Impala’s Anthony Odhiambo to score under the posts. Patrick Mutuku converted to close the match.

Resolution Impala Saracens Head Coach – Oscar Osir:
We needed to pick ourselves up after half-time, but we dug even deeper into our shells. We however still have a chance to play in the quarters if we beat BlakBlad in our last match of day 1. Our analysis has shown us where we fell short & you will definitely see a changed line-up against BlakBlad.
