Resolution Impala Saracens captain – Samwel Motari collected off a beautifully swung pass from Billy Omondi which Anthony Odhiambo converted for a 7-0 lead. Impala could have utilized KCB’s indiscipline to score, but the lack of urgency to play against 5 men allowed the bankers to get back into the game. Anthony Odhiambo and Billy Omondi shot up in defence, leaving a massive dog-leg for exploitation, which Shaban Ahmed never hesitated to punch through. Shaban converted his own to place the Lions 7-0.

KCB could have been the better team in defence, but Impala found a way to piercing through them. Motari stretched his defender at the corner, dotted, but Patrick Mutuku’s attempt at collecting the extras blew wide. KCB could have scored at the corner, but unrelenting defence assured Impala the Bronze medal.

Impala performed well this weekend save for the semis loss to Homeboyz. Impala created very many scoring opportunities but failed to book the finals ticket. I hope the players will continue exerting themselves into the next leg – Christie 7s
