Resolution Impala Saracens gathered a total of 7 points from the 2018 Driftwood 7s tournament played on the 25th and 26th of August 2018 at the Mombasa Sports Club. The 7 points are courtesy of posting a 7-15 loss to Kenya Harlequins in the Challenge Trophy Final. Although the team posted better performance; from 13th to 10th, a slight drop from 7th (Post-Kabeberi) to 8th (Post-Driftwood) after Nondies beat Kabras in the 5th Place final to collect 13 points. Nondies have since taken up position 7 on the log.
Huge relief for the team is that this time, a request of invitation to the next leg – Dala 7s to be played on 8,9 September 2018 is not a necessity to play in the Division 1 segment of the tournament. The team confirmed Division 1 qualification after winning the Challenge Trophy Quarter Final match, 29-5 against Makueni RFC. The team will take a day off today and will resume training on Tuesday 28th August 2018.
