Derrick Mayar powered his way out of two defenders to scoring in the 1st minute of the game. Mark Kwemoi’s boot unfortunately hit the post. Leon Adongo scored Impala’s second try. Kwemoi topped up his effort by converting. Paul Mutsami, who could easily pass as bully of the match dragged 3 forwards with him into the 22, shook them off before launching a power run into the box. Paul Mutuku’s attempt at complementing this effort went flailing.
HT: Resolution Impala Saracens 17-0 Makueni RFC
Mutuku’s hunger for a permanent spot in the 7s outfit was on show in this match. Quick footed and amazingly agile in the mind, he spotted gap in Makueni defence against an atmosphere of intense contact within Impala’s 10. He converted his own after the 60 metre run. Mutsami registered his brace seconds after kick off but Mutuku failed to convert. Impala could have won the match 29-0, but a second of lost concentration in defence, spotted by Makueni’s Eliud Salamba meant otherwise.

Resolution Impala Saracens Head Coach – Oscar Osir:
The result is okay. I am happy that we have avoided the shame of relegation. We meet Mombasa in the Challenge Trophy semis. I know very well that they extended us an invitation, but I am focused emotionally and will stick to the business of the day. I am sure Mombasa expect a tough game.
