After a scintillating performance at the 2016-17 Championship competition, Resolution Kisii received promotion to the 2017-18 Kenya Cup. Club Chairman – Walter Orangi reinforces why it was a brilliant decision to travel more than 612 kilometres on each of the 2 weekends that Resolution Kisii was involved in floodlit rugby…
“Resolution Kisii will definitely participate in the 37th edition of the Impala Floodlit Rugby Tournament. A large number of us had missed the experience that comes with highly competitive night rugby. The ambience on all 3 Saturdays was exciting! We never experienced any hitches in our participation. Floodies was a great learning opportunity. Our key lesson was how to play against the big teams. We understand that as a team coming into Kenya Cup for the first time, we’ll have many challenges. We face Top Fry Nakuru in our first Kenya Cup fixture this weekend at the Nakuru Athletic Club. Our first priority is seeking to maintain stability. We recognize our biggest advantage is the fact that we have a lot of home matches. I can assure you that most of our home matches will be a tough experience for our opponents now that we have learnings from Floodies. If by any chance we happen to lose, we plan to lose honorably – with bonus points. My biggest prayer however is we find a way to expand Floodies to levels where we can get foreign XV teams to compete against local ones. It will be an experience like no other & will help with developing skill levels to admirable heights.”
