CUEA Monks have confirmed their participation in the Varsity Category of Floodies 2018 sponsored by Blaze. The team, which finished second after an unlucky 20-25 loss to Menengai Oilers in the final on 18th November 2017 has chosen Floodies 2018 as preparation ground for their 2018-19 Championship League campaign. Strathmore, who lost 11-16 to Technical University Of Kenya at the Quarters return to the competition aiming to use this platform as testing ground in their forthcoming 2018-19 ESS campaign. The Daystar Falcons, who lost 8-15 to CUEA Monks in the Quarters have also selected Floodies 2018 as a testing platform for their new players and adopted systems of play. An exciting addition has been made to this tournament category. The SWARAS, the Impala Saracens Academy outfit which finished 3rd in the 2017-18 Nationwide competition will be weaned into fast paced, tactical competition. Speaking to the Floodies 2018 Media office, Fred Ollows, Director of rugby – Impala Saracens noted, “It will be exciting to watch how the SWARAS adapt to that level of competition. They have been working hard in training. Their skill level has improved over the past 13 weeks. My belief is they will embrace this challenge and come out of it with desirable results.”
The Floodies 2018 organising committee is currently processing confirmations from 4 more teams before releasing the Varsities Tournament draw.
