KCB are on course to defend Impala Floodies tournament title after seeing off Mwamba RFC 25-10 in the quarters on Saturday October 13, 2018 at Impala Club.
The Bankers needed four tries against Mwamba’s converted try and a penalty to win what was an entertaining thriller.
Mwamba took a 3-0 lead via Brian Kivasia’s penalty but that was cancelled by Stephen Osumba’s three pointer to see both sides tie 3-3 at the interval.
Brian Nyikuli started the try flaw for KCB with Francis Mwita’s try coming 10 minutes later to lead 13-3. Kenya 7s winger Collins Injera would land Mwamba’s sole try in the 65th minute with Brian Kivasia adding the extras to bring the game to 13-10.
That was short-lived as Ahmed Shaban converted Vincent Onyala’s try with Felix Ojoo delivering the last punch for KCB to win 25-10.
The bankers are up against Homeboyz in the semifinal on Saturday October 20 after the Deejayz beat Nakuru RFC 37-30.
