The Black Lions have won match 2 out of 3 in the Impala Rugby Floodlit Tournament Women’s Category. Stephanie Waithera was shown yellow in the fifth minute of the match. Ngong Fry’s Elizabeth Wekesa took advantage of the personel deficit to score a try, which Grace Adhiambo failed to convert. Julie Nyambura equalized for Black Lions in the 32nd minute. The ensuing conversion attempt blew short. Imogen Hooper scored a try for the Black Lions in the 35th minute after Ngong Fry’s Diana Kemunto was shown yellow within own 5. Sarah Oluche converted Hooper’s try to make it 12-5. Although Ngong Fry’s Maureen Njoki was shown yellow for dissent in the 45th minute, the Black Lions looked comfortable settling for the 12-5 win.
As it stands, Black Lions have already lifted the Women’s Trophy. The teams will play against each other next weekend – 27th October 2018 in an effort to earn more fifteeens game time, which is rare in these parts of the globe.
