Impala Saracens names squad to face Mean Machine

Impala Saracens squad to face Mean Machine named

After an impressive 68-7 triumph over Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad last weekend, 7th placed Impala Saracens now take the fight to another University outfit: 12th placed Mean Machine Rfc. The teams which were initially meant to square out at the UoN grounds, will have to shift goalposts to Nondies turf, the Jamhuri ASK showground. Sources intimate a reason for the shift in venue: Machine would like to capitalize on gate collections as their home ground is an ‘access to all’ facility.

When inquired on his post team naming sentiments, Joel Omer, the Impala Saracens captain stated, ‘we have been building a consistent game plan and are looking forward to more control. Impala is known as a running side, but we would ideally want to get hold of the control in most instances. However, if chances open up for running the ball out wide, we shall not blink twice. Our set piece execution dealt us a blow when we went against Blad. It is imperative that we seek immense concentration and bone deep composure when we meet Machine’

Starting XV:

Edgar Obino & Dan Ndome have cemented their front row presence. Waithumbi Martin who started from the bench last weekend replaces Dennis Karani at tight head prop. Oundu Davies replaces Erick K’ Opondo to partner with Paul Oimbo at second row. Felix Okari received Situma’s nod to start at 6. Joel Omer moves to 8th man & Tyson Okoth retains his open side flanker jersey. Michael Mugo & Anthony Nyandigisi continue their partnering at scrum half and fly half respectively. Having regained full fitness, Sammy Oliech replaces Lameck Dunde to join the speedy pair of Quinto Ongo and last week’s hat trick hero Pius Shiundu at back three. Carlos Raoul and Okowa George stay at inside and outside centre respectively.
