Kevin Ronnoh, Kelvin Karani & Anthony Orege start in a new look front-row against BlakBlad RC this Saturday 3rd February 2018 at Kenyatta University. Although James Kubasu & Dennis Karani, who played at loose-head & tight-head prop respectively are unavailable for rugby, hooker – Daniel Ndome, who started in the 17-33 loss to Kabras last weekend has been named to start from the bench. Probably the eldest player in the Impala line-up this weekend, lock – Paul Oimbo partners with youngster – Rainer Omondi who has been consistent since start of season. Davis Makori who has always started at lock alongside Omondi, will not be involved in contact this weekend. Eric K’Opondo starts in place of Harritone Munai at blind-side flank. Derrick Mayar played at left wing last weekend but will not feature for any team this weekend. The technical bench has moved Billy Omondi from outside centre to left wing. Omondi’s number 13 shirt is taken up by George Okowa who will be playing his first Kenya Cup match of 2018. Starting on the right wing is Quinto Ongo. Quinto replaces Ian Minjire. Minjire starts from the bench.
Resolution Impala Saracens sit 4th on the Kenya Cup log with 24 points after KCB (34), Kabras (33) & Homeboyz (29). The team has lost 2 out of 7 matches (Homeboyz 21-39 & Kabras 17-33). BlakBlad sit 8th with 15 points. The team has lost 4 of 7 matches played. On paper, Impala look superior, but if BlakBlad’s temperament every time they come face to face with the Gazelles is anything to consider, this will be a highly contested match.
