Resolution Impala Saracens booked a Plate Finals slot earlier on this afternoon after drilling three tries against Mean Machine.
Impala scrum-half Mohammed Omollo was first to cross the chalk but failed to find the posts with the conversion. His try was cancelled out by Machine lock – Shad Munoko who outpaced George Okowa to land in the box. Kevin Otieno sent the flags flying for a 7-5 Machine lead. Omollo would then collect pass off Joel Omer, compact his core and sprint 40 metres to the try box. He was successful at converting this one. Samson Onsomu took advantage of Machine’s slow reaction to penalty and crossed over the line for try. Omollo’s attempt at converting flew short.
Machine’s Nick Wamburu slithered through Impala defence at the corner flag. Otieno’s attempt at finding the posts went wide.
If Impala wouldn’t have employed hard tackling in the dying minutes of the second half, statistics on the score board would have been a little worrying to the technical bench.
Resolution Impala Saracens Director of Rugby, Fred Ollows: The biggest challenge for the team in this fixture was recovering from the loss against Strathmore in the Main Cup Quarters. I am impressed by how the boys managed to soak in Machine pressure. Like I always say, good athletes are those who embrace challenges and not shy away from them. We face Nakuru in the Plate Finals. I have analysed and noted that they love taking the ball into contact. They enjoy home advantage as well. It will be interesting to watch how the boys turn around this. I know they can.
