Brian Opar’s try in the early minutes of the first half converted by Mohammed Omollo opened up KCB.
Paul Mutsami would later on stretch KCB defence to touching down. Omollo’s work with finding the posts was superbly executed for a 14-0 lead at half-time.
Davis Makori was binned in the early minutes of the second half after a referee call that was highly disputed by spectators at the Nakuru Athletics Club. Impala would however not cave in to missing an influential forward. Hard tackling by Timothy Makiya & flawless play making by Captain George Okowa ensured that KCB had no chance charting into Impala territory.
Substitute Billy Omondi broke through KCB defence in the final minutes of the second half. His try, neatly complemented by Robin Kiplang’at closed the match at Impala 21-0 KCB RFC.
The 3 wins from 3 matches today registered Impala as second seeds after Homeboyz RFC.
Impala will now face Strathmore Leos in the Main Cup Quarters to be played tomorrow, Sunday 16th April 2017 at 11.30 a.m, Nakuru Athletics Club time.
