Nakuru finish third
kcb

Top Fry Nakuru claimed third place at the Impala Floodlit tournament with a 24-16 result over Mean Machine. Nelson Oyoo put the Kenya Cup champions ahead with a quick fire try, Allan Odiyo adding the extras to see Nakuru go 7-0 up after a minute of play.

Kevin Njugi soon cut the deficit with a penalty that brought the scores to 7-3 before Martin Owillah’s unconverted try put Nakuru 12-3 up. Njugi added two penalties to bring Machine to within three points of their opponents but further tries from Joseph Wachiuri and Charles Odhiambo complimented by Odiyo’s conversion saw Nakuru take a healthy 24-9 lead into the break.

The second  half was a close affair, Machine looking to stay in the game, scoring a try through Elphas Manya who pounced on an intercept, combining with Friday Alube before scoring under the posts, Njugi converting to bring the match to 24-16 as Nakuru held out for the result.
