Resolution Impala Saracens announces the support of the Peter Nduati Foundation of the Impala Rugby Academy. The 500,000/- donation will target the community aspects of the longstanding academy.
The community academy focuses on the neighbourhood surrounding the Impala Club. It embraces the underprivileged communities including Kibra, Dagoretti and Kawangware.
Peter Nduati, founder of the Foundation said, “We have decided to get involved in this Impala Saracens initiative because it fits within our vision of returning to society. We are particularly pleased with the aspects of providing opportunity to the socially strained.
We are aware that this programme goes well beyond just providing rugby skills. While the rugby skills are important, it is the life skills developed in such programmes that stay with the individual throughout their lives.”
On his part, the chairman of Impala Saracens Rugby intimated:
“We are grateful for this donation from the Nduati Foundation. The community programme has been cash-strapped since the exit of Standard Chartered Bank due to a global strategy change. Inspite of that, we restarted the programme this August during the school holidays.
The Nduati donation falls within our broader plan to include more well wishers and individual philanthropists, in addition to corporate bodies. We are therefore appealing for even more support for this social impact strategy”
