QUINTO Ongo returns to captain the unbeaten Boks side, after last week’s stint with the Gazelles at Nakuru.
Another four changes, two tactical, see burly tighthead prop Meshack Tunechi uninvolved this weekend.
Stephen Ayora moves from lock to tighthead. Paul Oimbo, last weekend’s 8th man, fills Ayora’s position at lock. Erick Kopondo replaces Edwin Gatungo at blindside flank and assists Ongo as vice captain. Gatungo starts off the bench.
Reliable 8th man Valentino Cosmas returns to the starting line-up while the Ian Mabwa and AJ Odhiambo halfback partnership is retained.
Brian Opar shifts from right wing to left wing. David Moenga, who started at left wing last weekend, starts from the bench.
First centre Joash Ngesa is out due to a hamstring strain but is replaced by long serving Carlos Raoul. Patrick Mutuku continues to start at outside centre as Mark Kwemoi dons the full-back jersey.
“The Boks have been consistent. In KCB Cubs, we will probably get our best match up, so far, since KCB is just two points behind us on the log at 58,” says the Impala Director of Rugby, Fred Ollows.
“The camp morale is high and the team has embraced this challenge. It will be a good match”
The teams have both played 13 matches. The Cubs have lost just one.
If there is an ESS match you cannot afford to miss, this is it!
