Resolution Impala Saracens Boks continued their unbeaten run this weekend after overcoming Menengai Cream Homeboyz II 29-8 at the Jamhuri Park yesterday.
Moenga David was first to register his name on the score sheet, picking up offload from Patrick Mutuku. Xavier Kipng’etich’s successful attempt at the posts opened up a 7-0 lead.
Homeboyz, who seemed the better team with possession would in the 4th minute go over at the flag but failed to convert.
Mark Kwemoi’s good hands pocketed Kiplagat’s clever chip just outside own 22. A clean 60 metre run and a chip kick later from his right foot found Patrick Mutuku in the right position to scoring under the posts in the 18th minute. Kipng’etich complemented him with ease adding on the twos and 5 minutes later capitalizing on Homeboyz’ indiscipline to stretch the lead to 17-5.
Edwin Gatungo’s 27th minute try, neatly converted by Kipng’etich closed the half with Impala leading 24-5.
Although Homeboyz controlled the contact situation in the 2nd half, the Boks were resolute in defence. Homeboyz only recorded 3 points from the 40 minutes. Captain Anthony Oyugi’s try scored off maul confirmed Resolution Impala Saracens Boks’ dominance over Homeboyz II
