No cold starts
Impala started off their 2015 Driftwood 7s quest on a hot note! In their first match, having no problems adjusting to the humid coastal conditions ran over their first opponents Daystar 31-0. A massive start proving that Nick Odera’s charges were keen on securing silverware from this leg.
10 point margin over Kisumu
The second match saw Impala clash with the fishermen Kisumu RFC. Impala ended up fishing more points than the fishermen themselves. The Nyanza outfit could have however turned the tables if given the chance. The long distance from Kisumu to Mombasa did them in a couple of times. A first half that was full of resistance would melt to sieves in defence in the 2nd half. A 17-7 score over Kisumu had already confirmed Impala’s booking of a Main Cup Quarters appearance.
0-22 loss to the Bankers in Pool D
The final match in Pool D saw Impala battle it out against KCB who were on top of their game in Mombasa. The Kenyan Sarries conceded 22 points against KCB with breakthrough for try nowhere near sight.
Main Cup Quarter:
Resolution Impala Saracens 14-19 Homeboyz RFC
In the second day of the tournament, Impala played in the Main cup quarters against Menengai Cream Homeboyz RFC. Homeboyz started by scoring three tries and two conversions. Nick Odera’s youngsters then woke up from the first half slumber. In the second half, Impala responded to two of the 3 shots fired in the first half by scoring two tries and two conversions. This brought pressure in the dying minutes of the game as Impala pressed for an equilibrium but all in vain. The game ended 19-14 in favour of Homeboyz.
Plate Semis:

It was derby weekend in the Plate Semis. Resolution Impala Saracens were up against noisy neighbors – Kenya Harlequins. The Resolution Insurance sponsored Sarries side could have sealed the game at 12-10 in the dying minutes of the 2nd half, but miscommunication got Kenya Harlequins dotting over for a 12-15 loss.
