Dennis ‘Daddex’ Karani returns to local XV rugby after taking part in the Regal Hotels Cup of Nations played in Hong Kong 3 weeks ago. He replaces Josh Momanyi from the tight head position. Michael Gitau started at lock last weekend against Mombasa RFC, but head coach – Frank Ndong’ has opted to start a more agile and experienced Davis Makori in his place. Harritone Munai starts at blind-side flank. Erick K’opondo plays at open-side. Duncan Ekasi will not be involved in rugby this weekend. Youngster Steve Shammah takes up his position at 8th man.
Mark Kwemoi started at fly-half last weekend. This Saturday, he goes back to his number 15 jersey. Anthony Nyandigisi who played at inside centre 7 days ago starts at fly-half. A new midfield combination has been named to start: Samuel Motari pairs up with Billy Omondi. George Okowa who started at outside centre against Mombasa starts from the bench. The technical bench has opted for experience over youthful exuberance at the right wing. Leon Adongo will start. Timothy Makiya is on the bench.
The last time Impala played against Kulabu on 18th February 2017, the Gazelles weathered a storm of yellow cards, played with 12 men at some point in the game but still managed to beat the visitors 40-33. If Impala manage to maintain their discipline this time, will we see a different full-time score? Be at the Impala Club tomorrow – 2nd Dec 2017. Kick off: 4pm EAT
