Resolution Impala Saracens narrowly lose to Nakuru RFC
Derrick Mayar goes against Phillip Owuor on 4th March 2017 at NAC Fulltime Resolution Impala Saracens 17 Nakuru 21_

Resolution Impala Saracens lost 21-17 at the Nakuru Athletic Club in a match that could have been won if only the boys switched on to composure at the 80th minute.

A try from Nakuru’s outside centre – Brian Maina scored through exploiting a 50/50 ball set platform for a Nakuru lead. Mohammed Omollo booted over penalty to cut Impala’s trail to only 2 points but his opposing flyhalf – Geoffrey Ominde would have the best of the remainder of the half. Ominde booted over penalty, drop-goal and penalty in that order to secure his team a 14-3 lead at half-time.

Samuel Motari was shown yellow for what the referee called a high tackle. It was expected that the hosts would utilize advantage in numbers but Duncan Ekasi who replaced Joeal Omer would sneak from behind scrum during this 1 man deficit & scored. Robin Kiplang’at converted. 10-14 Nakuru.

Motari would come back on to torment the Nakuru defence, but Nakuru would turn out the better side in contact, committing numbers to the tackle and choking Impala from going to deck. Edwins Makori – Nakuru lock made good use of the overlap, beat Simon Muniafu to the chase and scored at the corner. Ominde converted to stretch scores to Nakuru 21-10 Impala.

Robin Kiplang’at’s courage had him tear through Nakuru defence and into the try-box. He would have had his name on the try scorers’ sheet but the TMO disallowed him the honors.

A shocker would hit the Nakuru Athletic Club when Samuel Motari was be seen lying motionless after entering contact. He would be driven off the dusty surface on ambulance but was confirmed stable later on.

Derrick Mayar finished off a very wily act of continuity by Impala. Kiplang’at converted. With the Nakuru lead only reduced to a try, all Impala needed was concentration and will at the 80th minute. Impala hit the first scrum squarely, only for Ekasi to be stopped by Chituyi just inches from the chalk. Nakuru would put forth a more solid pack in the next penalty forcing Onsomu to whip it out to the backs. Nyandigisi pocketed pass, entered contact but was turned over. Nakuru would punt away sending the NAC into rupturous celebration
