Resolution Impala Saracens Gazelles suffered their 2nd 2017-18 season Kenya Cup loss this past weekend at the Impala Club.
A try by former Impala player, who now plays for Kabras – Kelvin Kabole, opened proceedings at the Impala Club. The conversion attempt by Kevin Keegan went wide. Kabras 8th man – Max Adaka scored a try, easily converted by Keegan in the 18th minute increasing Impala’s trail to 12 points. 2 attempts by Impala’s Vincent Mose to find 6 points went begging.
HT: Resolution Impala Saracens 0-12 Kabras
A 41st minute desperate attempt to defend by Impala had referee Raymond Oruo awarding the visitors a penalty try. Although Vincent Mose found his boot on penalty at the 43rd minute, Kabras captain – George Nyambua scored a try converted by Keegan 7 minutes later. Although Impala’s Anthony Orege was shown yellow for dangerous play, Kabras failed to use the advantage in numbers to score. Impala were however quick to capitalize on the Kabras numbers deficit after Malika Habil was shown yellow for bending the rules. A beautiful try scored off Nato Simiyu’s genius and converted by Mose cut Impala’s trail to 16 points. Kabras replied quickly through Felix Ayange who dotted under the posts. Keegan converted easily. 10-33 Kabras. The last 10 minutes would be filled by an Impala insurgency. Although Samuel Motari scored under the posts and Mose converted to send the score-board reading 17-33, two handling errors in sure scoring situations by Simiyu & Motari kept Impala out of a desirable comeback.
FT: HT: Resolution Impala Saracens 0-12 Kabras
Resolution Impala Saracens Backs Coach – Oscar Osir:
We made a lot of errors both in attack and defence. We knocked on 2 kick offs and Kabras got 14 points. We had about 6 clean scoring opportunities, but we knocked on again. When we evaluate this match, we find out that the issues that cost us can be fixed. We are looking forward to playing BlakBlad on 3rd February 2018.
