Stephen Ayora is the only front-rower retained from the Boks team that played Western Bulls last weekend. The prop, who had a good outing in Kakamega wil be joined by loose head – Onsongo Nyamwaya and hooker – Chris Mwenda who earns a starting role this weekend. Onsongo and Mwenda respectively replace Soita Wekesa who starts off the bench and Jimmy Mwangi who will be uninvolved in rugby this weekend.
Lock Kevin Okeyo replaces Bakata Elisapana who seemed to have problems with settling early in Kakamega. Shem Angugo, had a good outing and is retained. Edwin Gatungo who started off the Gazelles bench last Saturday replaces Wambiri Chege at blind-side flank. Open side flanker Elvis Oroko & eighth man Valentino Cosmas who scored a brace last week retain their positions.
It is clear that a Mabwa – AJO combination works with fluidity. Director of Rugby – Fred Ollows has opted to maintain this. He has however gone ahead to include Brian Opar in the left wing. David Moenga who played at this position while in Kakamega moves to inside centre. Carlos Raoul who played at inside centre against Western Bulls starts off the bench. Youngster Bobby Otieno is replaced by Patrick Mutuku at outside centre. Bobby will be uninvolved this weekend.
Quinto Ongo maintains his captaincy & starting role at the right wing. Richard Sidindi replaces Emmanuel Okeya at fullback. Okeya starts off the bench.
