We have been playing well this season save for the two losses against KCB Cubs and Kabras II. I admire the way the boys picked themselves up to fighting it out with BlakBlad the last time we deployed boots into contest.
I agree that our first win against Kenya Harlequins II was a well deserved one. We however came from 9-15 down to win 19-15 in the second leg. Defending a trophy is not easy as teams will always come running hard at you. Sometimes the pressure is immense but I love how we in the Resolution Impala Saracens Boks side play for each other. We’ll be looking at capitalizing on our technical prowess this weekend and will settle for a win. That’s what’s important to us at the moment.
Asked about the rule excluding those who played in the Kenya Cup Quarters last weekend from the ESS semis this weekend, Quinto had this to say: ‘’It is a blessing to us. We’ve proven time and again that we can step out into the field, play and win. We’ve created a winning unit since beginning of season. The rule has also availed an exposure and playtime opportunity for more younger players to engage within competition. This is good for the sport and perfect ground for nurturing future Gazelles stars.’’
‘I personally would have suggested we play at 3pm, but we’ve had the experience of playing way earlier than 11am. This shouldn’t be a problem to us. The weather looks good at this time of the year and 2pm is just fine’.
